Why should I sell on eBay instead of locally?

It’s simple – If you market your item through a newspaper your only reaches a small portion of the people in your area? When you sell on eBay you market your item to the entire world? We have found many items that would not sell locally or sell for much below there real value, but sold very well outside the area.

Why would I need Web Boss Design Studio EBAY Listing Service’s help to sell on eBay?

Auction Valet realizes that many people do not have the time or ability to put their items up for auction at eBay. There is a lot that goes into creating a professional listing that will maximize interest in your items, which, in turn, will generate higher sales prices. Professional-quality photographs must be taken, edited and uploaded to the internet. Research must be conducted to ascertain all of the features and specifications related to a product. A unique listing is then written and formatted. This is only the beginning, because potential buyers are sure to have questions about your product, and when it does sell, payment has to be collected and the item must be carefully packaged and shipped. However, don't fret because Web Boss Design Studio does all this and much more when selling your items.

Are your fees comparable to others?

We believe our fees are very reasonable. As a matter of fact, many others have rates similar to ours, but they charge eBay, Paypal and transaction fees along with the base fees. We incur many of the costs that you may not be aware of including eBay’s listing and final value fees, transaction fees through Paypal, labor and more. We strive to provide you with maximum exposure. Please see our Prices page for specifics.

What is the process for you to list my item(s)?

After you have reviewed our contract and agree with terms/fees, we obtain all the information regarding your item from you, including the item’s history, age, condition, starting bid price, etc. We then take possession of your item in order to complete the process. This process includes:

1. Researching your item to determine the optimum listing category, description and price for your eBay listing.

2. Taking high-quality photographs and preparing an attractive, detailed listing.

3. Providing a link to your eBay listings through our web site.

4. Handling all communications and emails from bidders and prospective buyers.

5. Processing and collect payments from winning bidders.

6. Professionally packaging and shipping your item.

7. Paying you for sold items and returning unsold items along with a printed report of your eBay sales.

Why do I have to give you my items before you will list them?

We have to photograph, weigh and accurately describe your item prior to the auction. Also, we professionally package and ship items immediately upon receipt of payment. Our reputation on eBay is crucial to us - one of the worst infractions on eBay is to not have the item available to ship when promised.

Will you list anything that I bring in?

We reserve the right to accept or reject any item. Common reasons for rejecting an item would be:

(a) the item is prohibited by law or eBay’s regulations,

(b) we believe you are expecting an abnormally high price or,

(c) the item is one that we feel would damage our reputation.

Do you always know what items will sell for on eBay?

Absolutely not. Again, our experience, knowledge and research go a long way towards making an “educated guess”. Even with that knowledge and research, you never know until the deal is done. Many factors that you would never think of are involved in eBay sales from week to week. Weather determines if people are outside enjoying the sunshine or inside on their computers. Holidays determine if people are at home or work. Auction ending times and days of the week often make a difference.

When will you list my items?

Through experience, we have determined the most productive auction ending times and days. Of course, this is not scientific, but serves us well. So your item will be listed during one of those time slots that have been shown to be effective.

Can I cancel an auction before it ends?

No. Canceling an in-progress auction, especially if it has bids is a serious offense within the eBay community. We take great pride in our eBay reputation and do not end auctions except for extreme circumstances. If an auction is ended, there will be a financial penalty as stated in our consignment contract.

Is on-line trading safe?

eBay and Paypal go to extraordinary lengths to safeguard on-line traders. Also, we maintain strict terms of sale. The risks are present, but minimal, and over the years our experience with eBay has been very positive.

What if a winning bidder doesn’t pay?

While not common, this does happen. First, items are never shipped until payment is received and cleared, so your item is safe. Second, we will file a complaint with eBay and make every effort to receive payment from the bidder.

If we do not, we have three choices:

1. Offer the item to another bidder at their bid price. This may be lower than the winning bidder’s price.

2. Relist the item on eBay.

3. Return the item to you.

What if a buyer returns an item?

We accept returns ONLY if an item does not meet the listing specifications. That is why we require you to tell us everything about your item – the good….the bad….& the ugly. If we are upfront with any flaws, it protects against returns and also protects our eBay reputation.

When do I get paid for my item?

Usually within 14-21 days after an auction ends. We must wait for payments to clear before shipping your item. This could be immediately if payment is made through Paypal, but take a week or so if payment is made through the mail system. Once payment is made and your item is shipped, we then must wait until the customer receives the item and confirms it meets their approval. After notification of their satisfaction, we will make payment to you.

Are there any price requirements or size limits on the items that you will accept?

Yes, each item must have an estimated sales price of at least $25. In addition, items must weigh less than 150 pounds and not exceed 130 inches in combined length and girth.

How will I know that my items are safe at Web Boss Design Studio EBAY Listing Services until they are sold?

All items accepted for resale by Web Boss Design Studio EBAY Listing Services are 100% insured against damage and theft.

What happens if my item does not sell?

If your item does not sell, you may choose either to re-list it a second time or pick it up within 10 days after the close of auction. Items not picked up within 30 days are donated to charity or disposed of.

Can I list an item with a minimum reserve in order to protect me from taking a loss?

Yes, we have a wide array of pricing and listing options. We would be happy to speak with you and make recommendations.

What is a gallery picture?

It is the little picture that shows up when all products are listed on an eBay search page.

What is the benefit of a bold listing?

It makes your listing "stand out" from the other listings.

Do I have to sign anything?

A short listing agreement must be completed and signed before we list your item(s), and is for the sole purpose of preventing any misunderstandings, and protecting both of our interests.

What if an item sells below the $25 minimum estimated value?

On occasion, items will not perform to expectations, and eBay and Web Boss Design Studio cannot guarantee any item's performance. It's in Web Boss Design Studio interest to see that each item has a chance to succeed, and we do everything we can to make this happen.

Who sets the price?

The final selling price is set by the market. In the auction method of marketing, each item is sold to the highest bidder. Our job is to position your item(s) on eBay and draw the highest number of bidders to bid on them.

What method of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, all major credit cards, checks and money orders.
